UKQCS provide induction training via three routes; online through our partnership with Care Academy, by our one day workshop, and using free (to UKQCS subscription customers) workbooks.

Online, Care Academy

Care-Academy assists care organisations to meet the requirements of the Skills For Care (formerly TOPSS England) Induction Standards, CWDC Induction Standards and LDAF Induction and Foundation. The Care-Academy combines a mix of on-line learning, classroom and workplace activities to ensure learning is both enjoyable and effective.

One day workshop

Delivered on your premises at a cost of £150 per candidate, to a programme which is customised to your exact needs and care setting.

Workbooks

UKQCS online system users have access to a library of 15 distance learning workbooks, and privileged access to the market leading online Skills for Care compliant induction training from Care Academy, a UKQCS Affiliate.

The workbooks are intended to be copied and issued to new employees in order for them to study to reach competency with minimal supervision. A question and answer section is provided, with suggested answers for the supervisor, to ensure consistent feedback with minimal effort.

The workbooks were originally produced by a fully qualified NVQ tutor and assessor, and used by a major UK domiciliary care provider and small care home group. The original edition was used by over 1000 care staff throughout England and Wales. Since the year 2000 the workbooks have been used in over 100 care homes throughout the UK, with upwards of 4000 staff having successfully used them.

Five of the workbooks can, in most areas, be used to access the TOPSS £75 per candidate induction funding. UKQCS-training can provide support for the claim
