Investors in ExcellenceLaunched in mid 2005, Investors in Excellence for the Care Sector is based on the widely recognised Business Excellence Model, often referred to as "EFQM", the European Foundation for Quality Management. The model has been in use by world-class organisations in Europe since the early 1990's, and has now been specifically adapted for the care sector in the UK. The Business Excellence Model is the quality assurance model of choice of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, is in use by all national and local government departments, and is becoming the QA framework for all sections of the care sector working with central and local government departments.
